Extending education services in Carnarvon

Royalties for Regions has provided funding to extend and introduce new education services in Carnarvon. These include $7 million in Royalties for Regions funding to construct Stage 1 of the new Carnarvon Community College.

The college will ultimately combine two primary schools (Carnarvon Primary School and East Carnarvon Primary School) with Carnarvon Senior High School to provide a K-12 college on the one campus.

Royalties for Regions also introduced three School Breakfast Programs for Carnarvon students, as well as establishing the Clontarf Football Academy at the high school and the primary school site.

Providing housing for seasonal staff at Coral Bay

Royalties for Regions provided $15.25 million to house seasonal workers at Coral Bay. The Coral Bay Seasonal Staff Accommodation project involved the construction of 37 homes, an office and a community building to house 75 people.

The project has helped local businesses attract and retain staff during the peak tourism season and had the added benefit of providing employment and training opportunities for members of the local Aboriginal community.
